We live in a world that is more both more connected and more isolated than ever. Real-life friendships are harder to come by, and it’s not uncommon to feel like no one around you shares your interests. With the slow disappearance of “third spaces” like coffee shops, clubs, and community centers, plus the rise of screen-heavy, isolated lifestyles, it’s easy to lose touch — not just with people, but with the hobbies and passions that make us feel like ourselves.
That’s where our app comes in. We believe no one should have to give up what they love just because they don’t know someone else who loves it too. Our platform makes it easy to find people who get it — whether it’s rock climbing, board games, tennis, cooking, or anything else. Just set up a profile, add your interests, and we’ll connect you with other people who share your interests. Simple, human, and built for genuine connection.

I developed Etern.life when I was the Marketing Manager at Passages International, Inc. We had hired a few third-party developers who did not manage to bring this project to life, so I brought the project in-house and built it myself. For this project, I created a WordPress website and used a heavily edited business directory plugin to create an ash scattering memorial map.
This website lets users mark the location that they scattered a loved one's ashes and create an online memorial. The location is pinned on a map, and anyone can see the memorial and where this person was scattered.
We synced access codes to an Oracle NetSuite database with an API for purchase validation.
Etern.life is currently live, and has hundreds of memorials across 6 continents.
Technologies Used:
WordPress, HTML, CSS, PHP, and a variety of customized WordPress plugins.
Turning Pointe Health & Wellness was a medical clinic offering a combination of Eastern and Western medicine. After being hired on to create the website for this startup, I quickly learned that the company was missing a brand identity, a complete grasp of its offerings, and messaging. A major part of this project became a marketing/branding consulting project to decide what would go on the website.
This website was built using WordPress. It's a relatively simple design, but it highlights the branding and content creation work that I did for the company.
Unfortunately, due to a falling out between the founders, this company did not make it, but I'm working on putting a version of the website up here as part of my portfolio.
Technologies Used:
WordPress, HTML, CSS, PHP, and a variety of WordPress plugins.
From the beginning of any project, I believe in writing out everything that needs to be done. What features will we need? Who is the user, and how will they use it?
I use software like Miro, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite to manage wireframes and project management tools like Asana and Monday.com to plan ahead.
When I was Marketing Manager at Passages International, I managed a ~$100,000 annual advertising budget across digital and traditional channels. We used social media ads on Google, FB, Pinterest, and Instagram. That industry is a bit old-school, and when I joined the company nearly 100% of our budget went to traditional ads through trade publications.
I set budget aside and implemented a digital advertising strategy, while slowly downsizing our traditional ad placements to high-value spots. I also changed our traditional ad plan away from simple ad-buys to strong partnerships with the trade publications, increasing our visibility in their own newsletters and on their websites.
I love coming up with creative ideas to advertise products. Creative advertising concepts, for me, are the most fun part of advertising. The most important thing in advertising is recognition of your brand.
Often, every available option offers acceptable specs and/or enough features to satisfy a customer, so what sets your brand apart in their mind? So much of it comes from the confidence of your brand and your ability to stick in the customer's mind. Ads that make people laugh or think, or just say "Ha! That's clever" can be powerful tools in brand recognition.
New product launches are great. They're one of my favorite projects to be part of. I love the energy that comes from conversations about introducing something brand new to the market that hasn't existed before, and will fill a specific need for customers.
These are some of the aspects of product launches that I've been involved in:
I've been involved in many types of trade shows, including:
I was also part of the team that created the Green Funeral Conference in Albuquerque, NM. We planned the convention from scratch with an organization called CANA, hosted a cocktail reception at our facility, and I gave presentations at the convention two years in a row, speaking about how to market and advertise sustainability and eco-friendly options to retail customers.
I love tech, but there's no substitute for something in your hands. I've worked on annual product catalogs, a modular catalog, packaging design, sales brochures, price lists, and product instructions that help your less tech-savvy customers learn about your business and your products, and come out happier with your brand for it.
Click below to view a full product catalog that I designed and edited for Passages International, Inc. It includes product descriptions, specifications, and images for over 200 products. Also, a set of marketing cards for Tularosa Springs Ranch, a grass-fed grass-finished beef pasture, and labels for High Roller Homegrown, a small-batch growery. The lower High Roller label has a large blank space for employees to hand-write the specific product.
Press releases are easy, cheap (or free) marketing for your business. When you have news, let the people know!
Here are some different press releases I've written for product announcements and company news:
www.kilianrempen.com is my personal portfolio website. It's a part of the portfolio itself - I created it using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript. I'm making use of Flowbite assets where they make sense, created wireframes for the site using Balsamiq and Miro, and put extra effort into the layout and design of the website.
This is a good example of the type of website I could make for a static billboard site - say for a restaurant or small busienss that does not sell products online.
Technologies Used:
HTML, Tailwind CSS, JS, Git/Github, Miro, Balsamiq, Flowbite
Long-form magazine articles and SEO-optimized blog content that gets your message out.
Writing concise sales copy for websites can be tricky. I can help you keep your product descriptions informative and concise.
Here are two online catalogs that I've written or edited the product descriptions for:
How your site looks draws people in, but what it says keeps people there. I write website content that is brand-appropriate, audience-focused, and broadcasts your message.
I've written homepage content and online store product descriptions, instruction pages, info, blogs, and more.
